New Zealand's Natural Beauty
Sometimes it’s easy to forget how much beauty there is in the world. We get so caught up in the details and obligations of our days that we forget to look. A trip to New Zealand, though, will force you to pay attention to the dramatic scenery and incredible beauty. It’s beauty magnified and all around you. What’s our advice for your itinerary? Don’t fill it with activities and attractions you snap a pic of and check off. Don’t forget to soak up nature. There are a lot of natural and geographical advantages to New Zealand. Ancient glaciers are just as easy to find as long sand beaches. You can see snow-capped mountains or flower-filled plains. You can walk through subtropical forests or volcanic plateaus. There’s so much variety, and it’s all within reach of each other. You can spend one day on a glacier and the next on a warm, sandy beach.
There’s just as much variation in the weather as there is in the land. The mild temperatures, good amount of sunshine, and moderately high rainfall make it perfect for the area’s rich flora and fauna. It’s not uncommon for the weather to change suddenly because of mountains and seas. When you’re at the beach, be prepared for a sudden cold front or clouds to open up. You’ll see their easy-going, take-it-as-it-comes nature in abundance if you wait it out!
New Zealand has so much to offer. Whale watching is great in Kaikoura, on the east coast of the South Island. If this isn’t nature at its best, we don’t know what is. Sperm whales can be spotted year-round, and humpback whales in June and July, and killer whales from December to March. Take in all that New Zealand has to offer while surrounded by the majesty of the sea. You could also start underground. Waitamo’s caves are incredible. You’ve got to check out these underground caves. You can go mountain climbing, take a hot air balloon ride and see nature from above, canyoning, kayaking, or skiing. Off-roading or horseback riding are fun. You’ll never get tired of New Zealand’s beauty, no matter what you do.
