Somerset House

Somerset House should be your first FREE visit on your list. The dancing courtyard fountains come to life in the summertime, with their spontaneous sprouts of water gushing from the holes keeping you captivated for hours. There are also art installations, performances, and catacombs in the house. The Somerset House also has the Cortauld Gallery, but that’s the only place where you have to pay an entrance fee.

The Scoop

Museums and galleries in London are free to visit, but theatres and cinemas aren’t. You’re in luck, though. You and your drama connoisseurs should rendezvous at the Scoop if you have a penchant for drama, plays, and everything else related to acting on stage. Live music, plays, movie screenings, and exercise classes will keep the amphitheatre almost full during the summer. Get down there right away if you’re near this one and see dramas and plays at their best. Besides that, you’d obviously want some nourishment after everything is done to help you get back on track. Sir John Soane’s Museum

Bank of England architect’s house is now a museum. He had a collection of furniture, paintings by Hogarth, and a sarcophagus of Seti I. The museum might be small, but it is quite popular with tourists.

Since 700 years ago, the Yeoman Warders of the Tower of London have performed a ceremony every night called the Ceremony of the Keys. The ceremony was delayed due to a bomb blast. Beyond that, the ceremony happens on time.

The British Museum

Leaving out something as spectacular as the British Museum would be heresy in tourists’ eyes. Due to the elements inside, this museum’s reputation has inflated. Amazing displays, like the controversial Elgin Marbles, to a plethora of galleries with artifacts from every corner of the world. Not to mention the Enlightenment rooms in the east wing. A glass roof hovers above you, creating the perfect atmosphere for tourists.
