Cambodia is one of the Southeast Asian nations. In order for Cambodia to sustain its economy, it relies solely on textile and garment production and tourism. There are several historical places in Cambodia that everyone wants to see, and here are a few.
1.) The Angkor Archeological Park
Khmer civilization flourished here, a civilization so advanced during its time that it still amazes visitors today. You can visit the Angkor Wat Temple, Angkor Thom Temple, and Bayon Temple here. It is the third largest city in Cambodia and one of the most popular tourist destinations, although not as popular as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. There are also a lot of beautiful places here, such as the Nokor Wat and the Bamboo Bridge that connects Koh Paen to Mekong. There is also a strong French influence in this city.
4.) Luong Kompong
Floating towns are a must-see if youβre in Cambodia. You can experience Cambodian culture firsthand in this floating village in Tonle Sap. The sight of floating schools, houses, and restaurants over Tonle Sap lake is a delight to any foreigner.
5.) Cambodia (Phnom Penh)
In addition to being Cambodiaβs capital city, it is the largest city in the country. You can enjoy its quasi-carnival atmosphere at Sisowath Bay, which offers a lot of things to do. Additionally, the National Museum is located here as well as the Royal Palace.
6.) Banlung
You will enjoy taking picnics as well as swimming in Yeak Laom Volcanic Lake in Banlung. Virachey National Park is also nearby, or you can visit Wat Rahtanharahm to see the famous reclining Buddha. You can also visit many wonderful waterfalls here, including Cha Ong and Kan Chang.
7.) Battambang
Here are the top places to visit in Battambang. Visit Wat Banan, which they call a small Angkor Wat, and Wat Baydamram, the bat temple where fruit bats live in hundreds. In this area, you should also visit Wat Ek Phnom.
8.) Kep
Cambodians love this seaside destination. Here, you can dine on platforms and eat fresh seafood while enjoying the Cambodian sun, and this is a great place to just relax and enjoy the sun. You will also enjoy visiting Rabbit Island because of its white sand beaches.
9.) The Hong Kong Islands
Koh Kong is perfect for nature lovers as you can enjoy majestic views of mountains, waterfalls, and jungles. If you want a more modern touch, you can also visit their zoo and casino. Visiting its islands and mangroves by boat is a popular activity here.
10.) Siem Reap
Another popular tourist spot in Cambodia is this one. The Landmine Museum teaches and educates both locals and visitors about the dangers of land mines. Kampong Phluck is a floating village here as well.
